Job Description

The Center Specialist helps the Franchise Owner(s) and Center Management team run the day-to-day operations of this retail location. He or she may be required to open and close the center, help manage productivity, and ensure the center's team delivers world-class customer service to all customers while monitoring cost control and expenses, and proactively contributing to the center reaching their targeted monthly revenue and staff performance goals to be provided by Center Manager and Franchise Owner(s). The Center Specialist is genuinely friendly, extremely organized, and detail-oriented. He/she is also proactively involved with training, optimizing sales, profit/loss management, continuous center improvements, service delivery levels, overall personnel management, and business development. The ideal candidate has completed college coursework (degree preferred), two years minimum in retail store operations experience, strong supervisory/managerial/leadership skills, excellent computer/internet/software knowledge, the physical ability to perform this job (lifting, bending, etc.), and knows how to listen, follow, lead, and help the center attain defined targets. He or she must have a dynamic, cheerful "can do" personality and must be able to help motivate a team to optimize performance by modeling the right behaviors. Previous experience in a fast-paced business environment is a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES

Proactively works with our internal staff and expertly helps our customers by providing our product/solutions Helps with ongoing store management, which includes training, scheduling, and coaching associates Schedules ongoing work assignments and helps facilitate monthly performance reviews Monitors evaluates, and helps maximize the customer experience Helps develop and implement store marketing program initiatives Helps minimize while managing customer claims Manages ongoing inventory Reviews daily employee time reporting and confirms hours prior to payroll processing Helps oversee center maintenance, including cleanliness, safety, and organization Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Reliable Energetic Fast learner Problem solver Friendly demeanor Proactive with follow-up Excellent communication skills Career-oriented and goal-driven Detail-oriented and extremely organized Possesses exceptional customer service skills Responsible and requires minimal supervision Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required Advanced education degree, coursework, or tech school preferred, but not required Two years minimum working in a retail, shipping, and/or business center environment One year of supervisory experience in logistics, retail, or other relevant industry Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites Outstanding phone and email communication skills Able to pass a background check to become a notary public is required Shipping and printing industry experience is strongly preferred, but not required THE UPS STORE, INC. together comprise approximately 5,100 independently owned locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada, providing convenient and value-added business services to the small-office/home-office market, corporate "road warriors," and consumers. CENTER SPECIALIST POSITION COMPENSATION
