Job Description

As the leading data and evaluation partner for frontier AI companies, Scale is dedicated to advancing the progress of generative AI, focusing on frontier evaluations, data science around posttraining, agentic applications, trustworthy agents oversight frameworks, and beyond. In this high-impact role, you will partner closely with our ML organization leaders, develop research roadmaps, drive planning processes, and lead ML strategy. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, combining meticulous planning, analytical rigor, a strong focus on customer outcomes, and excellent interpersonal skills. You should have demonstrated leadership in AI projects, credibility with executive stakeholders, and a hands-on approach to challenges. If you're eager to work on ambitious Generative AI innovations and enjoy the process, we'd love to hear from you! You will: Partner with the Head of ML and senior leaders to define business priorities, execute key initiatives, and align teams. Perform analyses and provide recommendations for effective decision-making. Own operational rhythms (leadership meetings, All Hands, OKRs, offsites), including agenda setting, facilitation, note-taking, and follow-up. Act as a thought partner to ML leadership, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to shape products and improve operations. Ideally you'd have: Exceptional communication skills, capable of distilling complex ideas into clear insights and engaging presentations. Technical aptitude, comfortable reviewing research and grasping high-level concepts quickly. Highly organized with strong prioritization and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments. Outcome-oriented, data-driven decision-making, and a proactive work ethic. Proven ability to build relationships and influence without direct authority. Nice to haves: Degree or experience in computer science or STEM fields, or hands-on experience with software or machine learning systems. Experience in enterprise or AI product management. Compensation includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The salary range for San Francisco is $204,000–$255,000 USD. We offer comprehensive health coverage, retirement benefits, a learning stipend, PTO, and additional benefits. Our policy requires a 90-day wait before reconsidering candidates for the same role.
