As a Retail Store Associate, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming shopping environment. Your responsibilities will include merchandising and stocking products, operating the cash register, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the store. By collaborating with the ALDI team and delivering outstanding customer service, you will enhance the overall shopping experience for our customers. Position Type: Full-Time Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour Wage Increases: Year 2 - $19.50 | Year 3 - $20.00 | Year 4 - $20.00 | Year 5 - $21.00 Duties and Responsibilities: All tasks must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Process customer purchases, ensure the store is clean, and restock shelves and merchandise displays. Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers throughout their experience. Work cohesively with team members and communicate effectively with store management. Provide feedback to management regarding products, inventory discrepancies, scanning errors, and other issues. Participate in inventory counts as per guidelines and help maintain inventory accuracy. Adhere to cash handling policies to minimize losses. Follow all company policies and procedures while safeguarding the confidentiality of documents and data. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Ability to stock merchandise from receiving to shelving; able to lift items weighing up to 45 pounds and place them on shelves at various heights. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk throughout the store. Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Exceptional customer service skills are required. Ability to effectively and accurately operate a cash register. Ability to operate equipment safely, including electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers. Capability to maintain general cleaning standards per company policies. Aptitude to understand and apply company policies and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and capacity to multitask efficiently. Must meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages. Education and Experience: A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in a retail setting is advantageous. A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
