Job Description
Hedge Fund Operations Manager
About the Firm:
We are a long/short equity hedge fund set to launch in June/July 2025 with an anticipated AUM of over $250 million. Our investment approach centers on deep fundamental research to uncover the most undervalued and misunderstood growth companies-those with exceptional fundamentals and underappreciated catalysts-aiming to identify the most compelling asymmetric risk/reward opportunities. We prioritize high-conviction investments and strategic hedging through ETFs, options, and single-stock shorts to manage risk.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Hedge Fund Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational functions of the fund. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate trade execution, reconciliation, and coordination with service providers, while enhancing internal workflows and supporting various internal teams, including portfolio management, trading, compliance, and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full trade lifecycle, including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation
Oversee operational workflows and continuously identify areas for efficiency and improvement
Serve as the primary liaison with prime brokers, custodians, fund administrators, and internal stakeholders
Supervise NAV calculations and fund accounting, including capital activity such as subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers
Conduct daily cash and position reconciliations across multiple accounts and strategies
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal risk policies
Collaborate with technology teams to implement automation and enhance reporting systems
Support audit processes, investor due diligence requests, and regulatory filings
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior operations personnel, as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
5-10 years of experience in hedge fund operations; experience in fund administration is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Why Join Us:
Opportunity to help shape the operations of a hedge fund from the ground up
Competitive compensation structure with performance-based incentives
Comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), health, dental, and vision insurance
Exposure to a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment
Long-term growth potential in a high-integrity, performance-driven culture
